A GENTLE REMINDER FROM A RATHER HYPER-ACTIVE COACH........
As coaches, we may sometimes get a little overly enthusiast while calling out sets. We tend to cheer, yell, and ‘strongly encourage’ each swimmer to push a little harder, go another length, and challenge themselves in the water.
It’s all well intended. HOWEVER... please!!!! Always be in touch with yourself, and be honest with where YOU are in any given workout. Some days the swims will come easy. Others days it may be more of a struggle.
We applaud swimmers who know when to take extra rest. We encourage you to sit out a 50 to regroup when needed. We understand that each of you have a great deal going on in your life outside the pool!!! Keep the workouts fun. Pace yourself, and know when to back off. Communicate with us if you’re feeling any kind of pain. We’re here to help, not to dictate!
